whats the difference between monochrome camera and a colour camera in astrophtography?
I am looking at buying a ccd astrophotography camera but i'm stuck between the choice of a monochrome and tri colour both are the same model and monochrome/tri colour is the only differance even the price is the same any help???

You have far more flexibility with a mono CCD. The mono CCD has all the light going into a sigle 'well' (pixel) while a Colour one has to split the light into separate 'wells' (for each pixel).
You can still achieve a colour image with a mono camera by taking 3 images, each with a different colour filter then combining them in software. This also gives you far more flexibility as often CCD's do not have the same sensitivity across each colour. A colour CCD often gives a 'false colour' image due to this effect.
