What is the best form for carrying a compact digital camera?

I love taking pictures, but my hands more poor poor. I know that with nicer SLRs with big lenses, proper form is the cradle lens with your left hand and rest against the viewfinder eye socket, which keeps the camera fairly still. But with small compact models I use, lens is not big enough to cradle in my hands and out of the viewfinder not enough for others against my brow (plus it is not as accurate as using the LCD). I know all the tricks like holding my breath, and elbows held against my body, etc., but they do not seem to be sufficient to eliminating blur for me. How can I keep the camera still enough to minimize camera shake? My camera has image stabilization but not always sufficient, especially indoors without flash.

This is a problem with small cameras. Apetures small lead in speed slow shutter that camera shake improvement. My suggestions: 1. Use a flash when possible 2. Find a stationary object to buckle themselves against, chairs, doorframe, whatever. 3. When you are inside and can not use a flash, set the camera on a stable surface (or use a mini tripod) and use self timer.
