Advice for AC powered devices,I don't want to under power the device or over power.?
I have a laptop cooler that is 5V DC,I wish to get either a 4-port USB hub that has 110-240V 50/60Hz AC Switching Power Adapter with output of 5V/2A with power supply provides a whopping 2,200mA, or Power Line 0900-77A 1300-mA AC Adapter with USB Charging Port Provides 3-12Volts and Provides 1-amp of power and has the Energy Star rating,I've heard of burning devices out,and underpowering devices,how do I know what I need?Do all 4 ports in USB hub provide 5V to each device,or are they automatically divided when a device draws power which can make one underpowered?

Bottom line, it's up to you to make sure you don't connect any devices that draw more than 500ma from each port. If a device pulls more than 500ma, the computer will USUALLY shut down the USB port -- and USUALLY with no damage. In reality, though, I have found that cheaper powered hubs do not deliver 500ma per port no matter how much the power supply provides. Stick to the brand names. Belkin has always served me well for USB hubs...
Anything that messes with the 5v will usually shut down the system instantly.
